Mercedes-Benz is one of the very few names which many of us would want to be associated with. The company is actively engaged and is making an earnest attempt to attain a replacement of SL-Class. This sports vehicle will be expected to make a debut by next year as a year 2012 model. The intention is that, this car would use the architecture similar to that of E-Class, however, with the exception of the wheel base which would be longer than the normal one. This will make sure that the better and bigger space is available for the both the passengers as well as the luggage.
The new next generation of the popular coupe-cabriolet will drop its diesel engine option to make way for the powerful petrol engines. The new SL will use a 3.5-liter V6 engine (SL350) and the extremely herculean V12 6.0-liter (SL600) engines. However, the company has announced that the new SL will also be shipped in the versions that will have a smaller 4.6-liter twin turbo V8 engine. It is believed by the experts and analysts from the automotive industry that the new 4.6-liter twin turbo V8 engine shall replace the old V8 engine found on the current SL500. The primary reason why this is being done is nothing else but to increase the power and performance of the brand image of sports car. Thus, you would be getting enhanced power and performance at the same capacity.
